I recently rescued a little guy that is supposed to be the same age (about 1 year) as my current beardie, but he is half the size. He appears to be in "decent" condition, just definitely needs to put more weight on. I was wondering if he may be a different species than the common Pogona vitticeps, possibly Rankin's? Unfortunately, the people I got him from gave me little to no information other than approximate age. Just trying to figure out if the large size difference is normal or not.

To me he looks like a regular dragon -- and a year??? I would say not being how small he looks - what kind of husbandry has he had --- improper diet along w/ improper lighting etc is going to effect the growth of a dragon --- along w/ basking temps--- your not housing the two dragons together are you?

Hi there, definitely a central.

If they said he's a year old I'd believe it. A lot of people don't understand how little they will grow if not kept properly and not fed properly. Luckily at a year old his body should still have time to make up for some lost gone and start growing again once hes under property husbandry and eating proper.

The same way an overfed dragon can look full grown at less than 6 months old, a great old dragon not cared for properly can be the size of a 3 month old.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
