Lamp generator

Does anyone know of a cheap generator that I could use to power one 75 watt light for when the power goes out? I currently have to hold him until the power comes back which isn’t very comfortable for either of us and forces me to skip school.

Do you have a Harbor Freight near you? You can try them and ask the employees what they would recommend for a power source for the light ---- are you in CA? If you are its possible they are going to be sold out of stuff like that--

For powering a single lamp you might look into using a UPS for a computer. They range from cheap to very expensive depending on how much runtime you need. A relatively cheap desktop UPS should be able to get you through brief outages.

If you're in the middle of an outage, this may only be helpful for next time, but:
For heat, you can get Hot Hands. They have ones that last hours - you activate it, wrap it in a cloth or small towel, and that will provide some warmth.
For light, the only options I'm familiar with are hand-crank lanterns/tent lights, but they would need to be cranked every hour or so. Your beardie can get through a few days of no heat or light without lasting effects, I think - I just wouldn't feed during the outage if it's expected to be an extended time.

Maybe consider a 280AH 12V Deep Cycle Battery & a 12vDC to 120vAC Inverter. Likely cheaper than a inverter generator that runs on petrol.
Likely easier to find these if there's been a run on generators in your location due to the national disaster.

Charge it up and it'll keep a basking globe running for quite a while ( P (watts) = VI.
Good quality inverters (available off shelf) will have 92% efficiency , there is some loss in electronics.

Deep discharge batteries and inverters are available at any sport and camping goods store, car parts sellers, boat shops, hardware shops, and specialist battery sellers.

So if you are running a 24W T5 tube & a 120W basking globe ==> drawing 144W , I = P/V = 144/120 = 1.2A , the battery will keep you going for eff x (280AH/1.2A) = 0.92 x 233 hrs = 125 hrs , (so good for close to 9 days before the battery needs recharging, recharge can be done from mains , or from a solar panel or if you have a 4x4 with a dual battery charger/controller in the car while driving about).

This is why grey nomads have deep cycle batteries in their campers , caravans , or 4x4s , or in their cabin cruisers.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
