Possibly shedding?

Hi so I had noticed on my baby Beardie Mushu’s nose area he has what looks like some lifted scales. He’s my first dragon and i haven’t had him for long (maybe about 2 weeks) but since I got him he’s been very skittish and doesn’t like to be held. As far as the scales could it be him starting to shed or did he hurt himself? When I got him he was missing 2 toes and I’m not sure how it happened. And as far as the behavior is there anyway that could calm down after he’s done shedding if that’s what this is?

Welcome to the forum--- yes it looks like shed--- bathing him and taking a soft tooth brush will help w/ the shed--- can you post pics of his lighting and tank please- we can help you out better w/ him as well -- the toes missing are probably from being w/ others in the tank and they thinking his toes were food- :) you can post pics by going here

I have a reptisun 10.0 for UVB Which I’m going to be setting up in the next couple of days. In the meantime he’s has a solar glo 125 watt bulb mainly for UVB and the tank was a little colder than it should be so I got a CHE but I turn everything off at night since it doesn’t drop below 70. He’s super active and LOVES Dubia roaches the only problem is that I live in Florida and I didn’t know they weren’t allowed so I had made another post in the food section about what are some good other staple feeders (I’m really scared of crickets and flying insects) but I’m gonna try my best if that’s my only option haha! His cold side is usually between 80-85 and his basking spot temp is usually around 105 give or take a few degrees at times.

I’m also only using this tank for while he’s small I definitely plan on upgrading to a larger one

reptisun 10.0 for UVB? Is it a coil or tube? If its a tube is it a T 8 or T 5? The tank looks nice and its good your upgrading --- the solar glo I think is good but you really want the UVB and the actual basking bulb separate--- so when you get the UVB in place I am not sure if you would still want to use that bulb I know some others on here can help w/ that as well -- I have never dealt w/ those bulb like that so I am not familiar w/ them -- all my bulbs are separate --- I do have a CHE as well but it is only used in winter months -- for feeding scope out the BFSL phoenix worms -- I know others have gone to those as a staple--- they are tiny and you would need a lot to feed --- I think someone said like 50 at one feeding -- check out the feeding board and see if you can find a post on there -

I heard the coil bulb could hurt their eyes so I got the tube I believe T8. I tried the calci worms and it looked like he had a hard time eating them like he tried to bite them and it fell out of his mouth but he’s never had any problems with other food so I’m not sure. But I’m definitely willing to try again

Those are the same BFSL calci worms phoenix worms--- try again - see what happens-- and yes the coils are bad--- his lighting for that T 8 needs to be in his tank -- approx 8-10 inches from basking spot -- here are some ideas for hanging in tank
command Velcro fasteners- picture hanging wire – plastic zip ties
here is a pic of someone and how they did it

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
