Male or Female?!?!?!

Postby HerpGirl » Sun Jan 06, 2019 9:13 am

I got a bearded dragon off of Craigslist. It was listed as a male. I'm not so sure now. If you the to a discussion called "Orangey Morph? What?!?!?!", the pics are the dragons color. I'll post some pic ASAP. :). IF he is a she, I'll change its name to Precious or Clementine. Thx!!

One of the easiest ways to find out is by looking at the base of the tail on the underside by the vent. You can use a flashlight to shine from the top while you look underneath. If it is a female, there will be one "bump" right at the base, if it is a male there will be two longer, oval bumps. Here's a good read https://www.beardeddragon.org/articles/sexing/

Does anyone have cute, girly, and unique girl names? Preferably not Izzie, Liz(zie), or anything that shouts, "Lizard name!". I heard that male bearded dragons can change their gender. Is that legit? 'Cause I'm sure that Simba was a he, he had two bumps near the vent, two large oval things on his belly, all the boy stuff. :banghead:
