Reputable breeder to buy dragon from?

My poor little three month old bearded dragon, River died. I spent $225 at the vet trying to save her. I got her from a chain store she never had much of an appetite and just stopped eating all together. She was delivered to the petstore cold and lethargic. They said that they warmed her up but then a worker carried her around on her shoulder all day. A 2 month old!!! I had her for a month. I picked her up in a tiny plastic container with shredded paper towels and a lid closed on her no heat lamp.
All together I've spent nearly $700. I bought two 40 gallon setups so she could be a classroom pet during the day on school days. I only brought her to the classroom six days ( three weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays). My students never touched her. poor little thing never had a chance in life.

I want to get another Dragon. She was red and beautiful. I think Inferno. Where can I get a beautifully colored fancy bearded dragon that is healthy from a reputable breeder? I live in North Carolina.

Hi there, so sorry to hear about little River, it is heartbreaking. Once you get a new dragon be sure to keep him at home for the first couple of months though. It will be less stressful [ not that River died because you took him to school but he'd have a better chance at home ] Be sure to sterilize the tanks and any cage decor.


Here are some good long time breeders with healthy stock: Rainbow bearded dragons , Dachiu dragons , Dragon's Den herp and in N.C. is Carolina Classic Dragons, but they are VERY expensive. IMO, Dachiu has the prettiest for the best price.

You could also Google reptile expo's in N.C. + then check the breeders that will be there.
