I recently bought a baby beard from petsmart not too long ago, he seems to be doing fine in the terrarium i have set up. it has all of the correct lighting and his diet seems to be good. he is also in the process of shedding... but in his terrarium he seems to be getting a lot of stress marks and whenever i take him out and let him chill out with me they go away almost instantly. i would like some help figuring out what is going on right now, i usually only take him out of his tank when he claws at the sides and only for about 20 minutes. as soon as i put him back in the stress marks seem to instantly come back as well. help would be appreciated again

Hello! I have a little dragon as well, the first two weeks I had her, her stress lines would come and go the same as yours, as she slowly got more adapted to her environment and new tank, her lines began to go away, it also helps to try and put around 30-60 minutes into playing with your dragon, even if that means sitting him/her on your leg while you do work or even while watching tv. Hope this helps ?

I also just got a new baby bearded dragon (my first) hes about 5" long? He's got stress marks.
Hes got a highest point basking spot on a driftwood log of 115 degrees, cool end is 85 degrees above the hide. I'm using a 75 watt UVA bulb for heating and a reptisun 10.0 bulb for UVB. Granted its not a tube its a mini bulb (non spiral). Both bulbs are in clamp lamps and angled so they don't effect his eyes. Hes in a 10 gallon tank for now, I plan to upgrade him soon. Substrate is a reptile carpet. when I upgrade him he'll have a reptisun HO 10.0 tube. Hes shedding, I'm bathing him once a day to loosen the shedding, I also bought a bottle of shedding aid. He does get out of tank time. At night its 75 degrees in my room and his tank with no bulb on. it was too warm when i had an inferred and it stressed him further. He does get around and he is eating. I'm hoping its just relocation stress, I only had him a couple days and the pet shop had him for 1 day. I don't always dust his crickets since he sometimes won't eat them dusted, so I mix it up. I dust half and leave the other half undusted with calcium or multivitamin powder. Once he's adjusted I'll build him up to eating mostly dusted crickets. He refuses phoenix worms lol. I tried.

This thread was almost a year old so the OP probably won't get to see your response! But I see you are new here, you should definitely make a thread in the introductions forum and introduce yourself and your beardie! Anyways, welcome to the site!

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
