No, they don't brumate until they are around a year at the earliest. Some people often think they are brumating, but it's either just a winter slow-down, or it's another issue, such as inadequate UVB light or improper temperatures. But no, a young juvenile dragon will not brumate, as they do most all of their growth and development during their first year of life, and they can't afford to not eat for a long period of time, that's why...

What's going on that you think your dragon is brumating? How old exactly is he? Can you post a photo of your dragon and then also of your enclosure/lights? It could be a problem with your husbandry, typically the UVB/UVA lighting not being adequate, or he could be sick as well...

He hasn't been doing badly, I was just wondering. His temperatures are correct, as well as UVB output. He ate a few less bugs a couple times, but he hasn't lost weight, and he seemed to like his cool side of tank a bit more. Today he ate more normally. I don't know his exact age, he is from Petsmart, but when I got him, he was about 5 1/2 inches long. Right now he is a bit over 6 inches.

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
