Substrate to dig/sleep in

Hello!

As the temperatures continue to drop I notice my 6 month old bearded dragon digging more and more each night before going to sleep. I would like to put something down, in that one area where she sleeps at night, that would allow her to burrow and stay warm on her own on the colder nights. I don't want to put something in there that will harm her or cause impaction. I was thinking about doing alfalfa pellets, any advice on that. I highly doubt she would eat them since she absolutely hates alfalfa. She is not fed inside her tank so I wouldn't have to worry about worms and bugs hiding there. She never ever goes in her water bowl so I wouldn't have to worry about it getting wet. And she has bowl movements outside of her viv so I wouldn't have to worry about her pooping in it. Is there anything else I would have to worry about. Or any other substrates you can suggest?

Thanks,

Danielle

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
