Weird pooping habits

I've noticed that my beardie will window surf, and then go under his paper towel (iso tank) to poop. Does anyone notice weird pooping behavior in their dragons? Do you think I could benefit from a half-sand enclosure or litter box for him, with it being hospital tank style? Thanks

I wouldn't go half sand but rather something solid that is easy to clean up like tile or vinyl. I've developed a routine with my dragon so he gets a bit of time to warm up in the morning then gets breakfast and time under his portable light in the sunroom on vinyl floor and stays there while I eat breakfast and has a poop before he gets to leave (within reason). Setting that routine has made it easy for him to follow and easy for me to clean. It's rare that he poops in his tank at all anymore.
