Any RI tips before her appt on Friday?

I had a funeral to go to today. So just getting home. She is on injectible baytril for 7 more days. I am so nervous giving them to her still. The needle is just too big :( She is very raspy tonight. Hoping this works. Doc was talking about doing an ultrasound (for free) to see if that...

Any RI tips before her appt on Friday?

The repeat test was the same. She had a strange breathing issue the other night. I took her back in today and we are giving her injectable baytril for 10 days. I would have to find the sheet again to check the measurement but it was 16.7. He did check the protein levels and they were low - so...

Any RI tips before her appt on Friday?

Both of mine were showing respiratory issues, and cleared up after taking it out. My vet is actually compiling a list of things - he is trying to learn more. He asked me to get what they use, so that he can add it. I just need to go to walmart to get the upc and call them... when I bought it...

Any RI tips before her appt on Friday?

Mine was Duck brand (that is all our walmart carries) and it has an antimicrobial agent. The doctor and I are figuring it was off-gassing causing breathing problems.

Any RI tips before her appt on Friday?

I think the baytril took care of the RI, but she was still having symptoms of an infection, but there was no infection. Getting rid of the liner, took care of those symptoms. When we did bloodwork, that told us there was no infection. Vet bills are expensive, but so worth it.

    HATE crickets ! Options??

Roaches, roaches, roaches...by the way, did I forget to mention roaches? :D I abhor crickets too - their smell, noise, and the fact they bite. Discoids and Dubia roaches are very easy to raise - though they do take some time to get a good colony going. Roaches have a higher protein/chitin...

Any RI tips before her appt on Friday?

Update on Saryn: After 6 weeks straight of antibiotics for a RI, we now think the shelf liner I had for the beardies' cages were off-gassing causing respiratory issues - but not an infection. I think the first 2 weeks of baytril took care of the RI - the other 4 weeks were not actually needed...

Please help - baby won't eat!

Make sure to give him the baths, and try to get him to lick it off his nose like was previously suggested. Get some chicken baby food and water it down a bit for him - use pedialyte or the generic diluted about 50%. If he is dehydrated you can cause more problems by feeding them - so get the...

    48" x 24" melamine cage. 18" tall or 24"tall?

I was using contact kitchen cupboard liner. But, the only kind I could find had an anti-microbial something in it. I have taken that out and am putting in tile. Both of my babies sleep both on the platform and under it, sometimes under the ramp. Neither has a specific place - just kind of...

    48" x 24" melamine cage. 18" tall or 24"tall?

It depends on your decor and lights. I have a raised basking platform for my babies, and I have a 24" tall.

Please help - baby won't eat!

Hi, sorry your baby is giving you fits =( It is so hard if this is your first as you don't know what is normal and what is not. I like the larger tank, but I don't think that is the problem. If the breeder had him in tub that was not see through, he may still not be thrilled with how much he...

Probably need to get a fecal done to check for parasites if you haven't had one done recently.

Any RI tips before her appt on Friday?

Thanks, I will try that once all this other is cleared up. I have added acidophiliz and colloidal silver along with her meds, and she hasn't been eating as well this week. Going to let her tummy clear up a bit before adding anything new. But will definitely be getting that =)

Any RI tips before her appt on Friday?

Well, the xray showed that the infection is mild at this point. So it wasn't getting worse as I feared - though the colloidal silver treatments could have something to do with that. He is very happy with how healthy she is otherwise. We are going to continue her antibiotics for another week...

Frozen (not freeze-dried) roaches as a staple?

I know freezing veggies causes a vitamin B loss - so you need to use a supplement. I am sure it would be the same for any frozen food - other than that, it should be ok. On another note, I *think* you can have discoid roaches, just not dubia. If that is the case, the discoids are very similar...

Any RI tips before her appt on Friday?

Saryn is 2-3 years old and is 17.25". When I got her in Feb she was 15.75". I am not sure if she will eat anymore dubia - I kind of have to coax her to eat all of those, but she is a little overweight...the vet said to cut her down to 5/day and that was when she was 440 grams...she is about 470...

Any RI tips before her appt on Friday?

Does anyone have any ideas to help combat a respiratory infection besides upping the temps? My vet took an oncology internship in NH. Thursday was her last day. My appt with the vet she recommends is not until Friday (and it is now 3.5-4 hours away from me...). Saryn was on a sulfur based med...

    Angry bath time?

Kera is about 5 months and all she ever does is jump out of her little sterilite tub I put in the sink for her. I am lucky if she will get in for 3 or 4 minutes most days. I was doing baths daily, but she got so stressed out, and her urates were pretty runny, so I started making it every other...
