No interest in human food (besides normal diet)

@NickAVD Despite we're not letting him out at dining time, Taco does the same when we eat: Likely he will also eat. (His enclosure is in the dining room/ across the (dinner) table, too.)

No interest in human food (besides normal diet)

Our Taco looks when we eat spaghetti, linguine or (large) prawn :D (He has never tried to grab food as he is always in his enclosure when we eat - for various reasons, such as I don't want him to eat human food, I don't want to run away from my meal to put him back in his enclosure/ under a...

A few moments from the life of a dragon

So pretty - gorgeous dragon :) I especially love the last photo in the first posting.

Help! limp tail and foul smell

Never done - you could of course attach a bell to a harness. I just would not do so if not absolutely necessary - i think of the stress the sound would cause. (Bearded dragons hear very well, and when I see this from my perspective as a noise-sensitive person who does not like any sounds...

@IAmAMirage Regarding the states, I can only say for California and for Tennessee - that's where they only have it after Thanksgiving. (Was checking the Aldi ad weekly also for other things and visited the store about once a month or in case I'd like something from the ad also in between.) Their...

Then this has changed, or depends on the state (if in the US), maybe? I have seen Stollen only from end of November on in the US Aldi (at least until a year ago, when I left the US). Also in Germany, only from end of November on.

First time owner - Are these products good? Any recommendations?

As well. Sand that gets hard when sprayed from time to time with a spray bottle and then dries under the lamps. It gets so hard we had issues with inserting a "sign" (paper on toothpick) into the sand last time for making a fun photo. (The sand I use is what I get directly from the desert here...

Bridging the gap. Or OMG don't look down maybe.

That's also what I did when Taco was small and I started with handling him in the tank. (He just only didn't do the flash if he didn't want to be handled. He just made himself stiff, or walked away.) Now: I still do this, fingers under his belly from the front, together with an "up!" and he...

I'm sure they can learn that. Mine also knows that "up!" means I will pick him up (he then "helps", means climbs on my hand and arm). And he barely reacts to what is just humans talking to each other (I guess as then the "the sound humans make" like "Tac!" or an announcing "up!" isn't present)...

This looks in fact like the more smaller scales of mine :D I would also guess with him being a leatherback, you could pet him in the opposite direction (from tail to head)? The scales and spikes of mine will "teach" everybody immediately not to do that ;) (they are really that sharp it scratches...

Great photo and shows the leatherback features nicely IMHO. The two rows of spikes (?) on his back stand out nicely.

Say hello to the daemon queen

In Chile it's more like: If you live in Santiago, most things can be bought. If living somewhere else, often there is just no store for certain things, and not all the stores in Santiago ship at all, and some only ship "within the Santiago area" (we're some 1400 km from Santiago). One then ends...

Also. I think for them it's "the sound humans make". I would guess Taco has no concept of a name, but would look as this sound announces to him a human comes and will interact with him. (I found he reacts mostly to the "Tac" part. So when I say "Taco", or "Hey Tac", or "Tac!" or any of that.)...

Say hello to the daemon queen

I was just thinking of exactly the situation when you go there for feeders and might chat. Like when I went to the store where I got my Taco from (I will not get another reptile*; I only buy there some feeders, but not even accessories as they don't have the lamps), I'm often asked how he's...

For the Stollen, there are many recipes. A "secret" is that it must be baked well before Christmas, weeks or even months before. (But if you are in the US it can be that the baking oven just cannot handle making a proper Stollen well. I've spent approx. 7 years in the US and never had access to...

Say hello to the daemon queen

That is cool (that they work together). Do you know if people who buy a reptile there also often get material to build an enclosure? I had thought so (just looking at the branch... reminds me very much of my home country :D) I also love it that bearded dragons live in a bit a variety of...

Our tank is not in the office (as my husband who works from home permanently has a lot of video calls and we feared this might irritate my dragon; I'm working from home just sometimes with rarely a video call so I might have done this) but across the dining table in a corner that faces the...

Mine also changes his color within general "sand colors" a lot (with mauve/purple or without, the orange being yellowish or very deep, the ochre being like play sand or more like peanuts), but "chocolate brown" is a color pattern that's gone since many months. Taco had no sand colors in the...
