    The Dragon's Lair

I was so amused by this observation recently.. He is such a messy eater.. when he chomps up his greens often 3/4 end up in his mouth and the other 1/4 end up scattered on the ground around his bowl. I used to just pick it up daily as part of my cleaning process, but in this new setup I've been...

    The Dragon's Lair

I used to do the "Staggered light setup" before and still do on some of my other setups. That's a great alternative. Basking>>UVB>>LED<<UVB<<Basking One thing I noticed with Jackson and other BD I had in the past was when the lights turned on all at once he would jump like he was startled and...

    The Dragon's Lair

Jackson was catching the "Sunset" Today. The dimming feature on the Arcadia lights are so cool! There's a nice colony of crickets now and they like to come out at dawn. He's figured this out and finds a good spot and waits for them to eat a few up here and there. Late night snack before bed...

    The Dragon's Lair

Hello Chile from USA 🙂 I'm glad you're enjoying. I've been really busy on other things, but I wanted to thank you for following. No need to automate.. just a bit more work is all.. One idea I've used for the drip watering system without a pump/timer is to just use gravity, which I...

    The Dragon's Lair

Just discovered about 100 little guys just like this morning.. it would seem some of the crickets I released "into the wild" have decided things are good enough to breed.. Free Range crickets anyone? LOL 😂

    The Dragon's Lair

Lol. 😂 I actually saved a lot getting stuff from landscaping supplier and DIY substrate. I'd say the most expensive thing of the build was the actual enclosure and the mural background. PVC is a pretty pricey material, but Kages is very fair on their pricing.. I couldn't of built it much...

    UVB and LED lighting

Awesome. They just updated the app and it's even easier to use now.. Here is a spreadsheet that I keep for my current schedule if you find helpful. It has a bunch of other stuff too that I reference.

    CALLING ALL BEARDIES!!

This is Jackson.. I remember when his basking log seemed huge compared to him.. now he's hanging off the thing lol. 6 months now. 12 inches 75 grams. Loves his greens.. especially Kale. Favorite protein is Dubia, but he enjoys a big juicy hornworm now and again.

    Portable/Battery Powered Heatlamp?

Right on.. I'm happy to help. I've used the UPS too for my fishtanks just to keep filters running etc.. but I don't usually get more than 6 hours at most and the lead acid batteries don't last too many years until they need to be replaced. Costo has the Jackery (or something like that) for...

    Looking for Enclosure Advice!

I've seen adults somehow survive in a 36inch enclosure.. Bigger is always better, but you can make what you have work just fine so I wouldn't worry too much. That said if you ever have the room and or the $$ to upgrade it's worth it and your Dragon will have an even better life! Dubia.com...

    Portable/Battery Powered Heatlamp?

Living in a rural California comminity for almost 20 years, I am no stranger to loosing power. On average I would loose power for about 65 days a year.. The worse was no power for 15 days in a row, but one time I had to evacuate for a month due to the CA wildfires and had to leave my animals...

    The Dragon's Lair

For the lighting I am using the Arcadia LumenIZE system.. It was a little buggy at first, but the latest version of Software is close to 100% This is what the interface looks like.. The "scan" button searches for all the lights via Bluetooth and they show up in the list below.. I have 3.. One...
