Im curious and looking at redoing my set up. My colony has done well with your basic Zilla Temperature Controller/thermostat and exoterra heat cable. Unfortunately the other day my potbelly pig must have gotten bored and chewed the plug coming from the thermostat and Im needing to redo my set up. Right now its running on a large heat panel but Im not happy with it and just using it until i replace it. I was stuck between going back to the heat cable, or possibly trying a 2' strip of 11" flex watt? I use flexwatt in my incubator with good results, just never gave much thought to using in the roach bin and trying to decide what would be sufficient. I liked the cable because it wrapped around in layers in the bin and kept great temps, I was never fond of uth for the bin.

Interesting, I hadnt thought of putting it on the outside, was going to put along the sides, inside. The cable I always had inside wrapped around the inside, taped with foil tape and brought the wire and probe in through the side.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
