That's pretty sweet actually
Yeah,

I wasn't sure what if anything I would get for them. It's a hobby, something that costs money lol So far it has cost me about $32 in frozen bloodworms for 2.5 months of daily entertainment and mental health enrichment. Next trip I break even. Trip after I'll need more bloodworms lol

But, since it's somewhat profitable I might talk to them about a planned out breeding project where I can get a bit more per fish. Based off others in the store they can sell for $7 - $80 depending on genetics. On principle I will not be breeding those $80 fish. Massive veil tail and massive dumbo ear fins. Poor things could barely move.

I breed for colors, patterns and maybe tail and top fin shape / size if reasonable and doesn't effect the fishes ability to swim. I could easily pull off the 40-60 range fish though. Half of the ones I dropped off will probably be in that range. The white male being top, maybe even close to the Dumbo's.

I agree, silkies should not be produced, normal beardies are challenging enough for the majority of people, myself included.

Dropped off 9 more at the fish store. Left with largest can of fish food I could find and some superworms for Alex. Somehow has $3 more in store credit on top of what I got last time lol

I don't think I know how shopping works lol

Not the Bettas, but tis the breeding season for the pond fish. Removed these two males from the large pond to allow the blue backed male to mate. Got about a dozen eggs today. I expect the actual spawn tomorrow or Monday. This was just a small one.

This guy is probably 9-10 inches nose to tail in the water. Big mouth, big nostril flares. He's really gotten pretty from the Petco feeder tank lol He bred last year and has two babies from last year. The orange one is too plain. The females are koi pattern or fantail so I'm hoping those carry over to offspring. An egg bodied fantail like the mother with the father's blue, gold and butterfly fins would be cool.

But that's all up to nature. I bet most of not all will be regular old goldfish.

Huge too lol
I always forget how big they are top to bottom. Only see them from the top until I net them for pond cleanup or something.

Every single time it's like "when did you get so heavy?" I use a trout net for them lol Mainly because it's very soft. Doesn't catch fins, injure slime coat etc...

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
