Hey folks. Just like the title states, I am looking to see what the best option for a cover would be for a 75 gallon glass aquarium by aqueon, which has a center beam for support. I am looking for something that will sit flush.. but it feels I am out of luck without building something myself. Am I overlooking one I can buy myself, or will I have to make one? If i do have to make one, I’m not too crafty and could use some tips. Thank you for your time!

The measurements are as follows, in case you are curious.
48 1/2” x 18 1/2” x 21 1/8 in” .

That seems close but maybe not exact to the enclosure dimensions. Building one might be a cheaper option but would require some tools. I'd build a rectangular wooden frame and staple/nail some metal mesh or chicken wire along the top to make a crude/vented lid.

With an enclosure that size, you don't necessarily need a top unless you have other animals in the house (especially cats) that could get in. It would be more of a protection against intruders rather than keeping a dragon in. You could then just mount the lighting on adjustable stands which has the advantage of easily raising/lowering them to adjust temperatures as needed.

Yes! That would be perfect. It’s mainly the center support beam being an issue for the hinge to sit flush. And I would absolutely love to not have a top on it for my little guy but unfortunately… my boyfriend has brought a cat into the house lol, so I do need to protect with a lid. Thank you for your response!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
