The dragons keep

Alex's keep in her castle :)

Even with the new basking light adjusted up, that hunk of jadeite just holds heat. Added the cover to keep her safe. It's still a safe temp, but it can spike when the house is warmer.

The bark is old Douglas fir (Repti-bark is made from it) It's a great surface, but even old pieces will release a little old sap if it gets hot enough, like a basking spot. A good baking on low solves it.

Had to stop for a bit due to weather / allow more soft wood to appear, but currently dismantling a couple stumps for another project. Going to have pieces large enough to cover a corner or side wall :)

Cool :) Mine sleeps in the same position (in a burrow behind a plant and under a climbing structure, but basically... that's the same: curled up in a corner under and behind something).

I guess this makes them feel protected and safe. I have read in nature during night they squeeze in between stones and then puff up a bit to make it harder for predators to pull them out. I always compare it to some of our own human behaviors that by instinct make feel us comfy, protected and safe.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
