Proper way to open a beardies mouth?

Hey guys my vet told me to grab some Gas X for babies to give to my Chubbs to help with gas my only question is what's the proper way to administer it.

Should I grab my beardies snout and then pull on the beard? Or should I open their mouth buy gently grabbing around their bottom jaw and not the beard? I don't wanna hurt her at all but the vet gently goes for the beard and not the bottom jaw just a slight grab below the bottom jaw.

Last night Chubbs was a tad resistant but she was a good girl and it was done within 2 seconds so it was very quick she seemed ok I grabbed right below the bottom jaw (the VERY beginning of her beard).

Personally I would crush it up and put it in a water solution and use an eyedropper. Don't add to much water though, you want to make sure to get all the meds in.
When I had to medicate Chomp it was a thick liquid antibiotic so that method wouldn't work.
I would take her out in the sun, i wore a dark blue t-shirt to help make it hotter. I'd wait for her to gape, and give her a squirt of the medicine. It took some time and a few trys but it worked.
If you try that method aim so the medicine hits the tongue and inside gums, make sure it's not pointed straight down the throat.

I'm amazed you can open their mouth. With a credit card I struggled. Their mouth stays shut like a steel trap.

I'm glad everything worked out.

Some suggest to put slight (!) pressure on the dragon's jaw joint, both left and right side - most dragons will open their mouth to get rid of the pressure.
I hadn't to do that myself, tough, as so far I had not to get something in.

Im not a fan of using pressure or pulling on their dolap. We are way to big and strong to accurately judge if we are hurting/injuring them, and they have no way to tell us. I ripped a vet a new one for hurting Zen trying open his mouth with a popsicle sitck. He very nearly got his mouth pryed open just to show him how it feels.
That's why I use the sun or basking bulbs to open their mouths. It's slow and tedious but it doesn't hurt them.

If that works, and it does, that's great :) I'm also a huge fan of using methods as gentle as possible.
E.g.: I would never grab my dragon (or any other pet) unless in an emergency, whereas I often see that people feel like they have a right to grab their pet whenever they want and not even question that.
I indeed check if his teeth and gums look okay just while he's gaping - which he's not always doing (so might not work for giving medicine) but fine for that.

I wouldn't think of much more pressure than when petting, handling them (which we obviously do without injuring them), that's why I extra highlighted the "slight". Forcing in a credit card or popsicle stick would sound even more awful for me - that in, what is about their gums, their teeth... :( How it damages trust, too.
Over all, I also would not be comfortable with such methods and would rather use the gentle ones (gaping, letting the dragon lick the medication from his snout, giving it with food he likes), but might use them in an emergency (=other methods not working, it must be done now and cannot wait if he maybe likes to gape or eat a few hours later).

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
